Hi there. Tuscaloosa is my hometown–I was born, raised, and went to college there, but I live in Houston now (well, League City). I have a collection of several large boxes of nice, new school supplies and backpacks donated by my students and community for Tuscaloosa City Schools. We would appreciate being able to drop them off at one of your sites to catch a ride to Tuscaloosa. What site is closest to the south side of town, and what day is the truck leaving? Thanks for all you are doing. I know everyone there appreciates it more than you’ll ever know.
Please help our effort. We have 28 drop off locations around Houston. I’m sure there is one near you! Check out our Facebook group to see all that is going on. Click on our website. Thank you!
Katherine, I will post locations this afternoon for you. Thank you for your support. I lived in Birmingham in my youth and my heart still has a special soft spot for the area and it’s residents.
Katherine, if you click on my name, Bette Gerhold, it will take you to the Facebook Group we’ve set up to have the most current drop off locations as well as other details of our effort. If you don’t do Facebook, there are locations mentioned in the blog post. I’m sure Christi will get back with you with more information if this doesn’t help. Thank you for your help! One other thing, the truck we have may or may not unload in Tuscaloosa. We are in touch with those in the know in Alabama. We will take their direction on where to bring the truck which will be most effective to help those in need.

Are you still collecting donations for Tuscaloosa tornado victims? My neighbors and I just had a garage sale and still have some good clothing left over. Any suggestions?
Yes, we are. Please review all drop off points listed on this blog. Your items are more than welcome.
